A musical experience in Liverpool

A while ago, one of the local Iranian asylum seekers asked me if I could source a laptop for him. He was desperate to get one to compose new music. Previously in Iran, he had made and released his own music. It was his life. Unfortunately, laptop donations are very rare and we are often asked for them so I couldn’t help him.
Recently he has started to feel depressed.
To do something special for him, I booked a music studio. I got my friend who is a professional producer to come along. We were able to record his new song.
Today, after the studio session, he told me how much it meant to him. He said that the whole experience and kindness of our community makes him not want to ever leave Liverpool. It has given him a sense of excitement for life again.
Moments like these make volunteering with Care4Calais so worth while.
