An appeal from Calais

Overwhelmed? So are we – but we desperately need your help. We quite simply have to make this ask.
Why? We are in Calais, right now supporting those affected by the Channel tragedy. And as we move into the bitter cold winter, conditions in Calais are set to detroriate at an alarming speed.
Already, refugees are cold and wet. Thin clothes are being soaked through. The little warmth they have at night is lost when police confiscate sleeping bags.
Sanitation is pitiful and due to food bans we struggle to distribute food. People are hungry.
And this is all happening less than 30 miles from the UK border.
How can we stand by and do nothing?
If you feel compelled to help, we are in the best position to deliver your compassion. In Calais and beyond, we will deliver shoes, winter coats, replacement sleeping bags, food & water, social support and more.

Your gift is never too small. Never “not enough”. Whatever you can afford – can and will – help support a refugee in desperate need.
Remember, where there is empathy – there is hope ❤
P.s. this photo was taken by a brave woman on the shores of Britain just five days ago. She made sure the children had their first taste of British biscuits – and kindness.
