Another reason why refugees need mobile phones

Just another reason why refugees need mobile phones.
This weekend our volunteers made friends with a boy they met during a distribution. He is Kurdish and became separated from his mother while travelling across Turkey. As neither has a phone they have never been able to find each other again.
One of the girls commented that her family first bought her a mobile phone as they were worried when she moved up to a senior school ten miles from her home. Compare this to a journey of thousands of miles at the same age.
The volunteers loved this shy boy and brought him back to meet us. We later found out it was his sixteenth birthday that day. We took him out for dinner; the girls gave him a football and arranged a cake. At the end of the evening he told me that it was the first time he had ever celebrated his birthday.
