Anthony gets our top mark

We are constantly amazed by our volunteers – every one of them brings a unique set of skills and life experiences which allow us to keep providing a diverse range of support on the ground in Calais.
Anthony is a great example of a volunteer who is invaluable. He is our ‘Mr Fix – it’. Vans, cars, generators, even a broken tap – you name it – he’s sorted it! Without his help we would have literally ground to a halt many times.
Things get a lot of hard use in Calais. We need working vehicles – everyday; we need power supplies that we can rely on – so that the refugees can rely on us always being there. So we rely on Anthony. He visits regularly; every few weeks we know he’ll arrive bringing his tools and his skills to our aid.
It’s a true bus man’s holiday for him as his day job is working as a mechanic for the AA in the UK. So we hope he’s used to being relied on as the ‘fourth emergency service’. He certainly is for us.
If you would like to help us – no matter what skills you have – we need you too! Have a look at our website for more info on how you can get involved https://care4calais.org/get-involved/
Or email [email protected]. We need everyone to play their part – there’s always something you can do to help. Thank you.
