Beverley Knight says #StopRwanda

We were so thrilled to see Beverley Knight MBE supporting our #StopRwanda campaign at the Henley Festival at Henley on Thames on Sunday. Other performers and festival-goers spoke out as well. To see this show of protest on Boris Johnson’s former constituency really brings home how out of touch the Government is with its brutal Rwanda Plan.
Beverley has made it clear how appalled she is by the scheme. She recently spoke out strongly against Priti Patel, naming the Home Secretary as the living person she most despises. “The way she’s taken the hostile environment and run with it – I can’t tell you how much it grieves me,” she told the Guardian.
The Henley Festival isn’t an ordinary festival, but a black tie event (only in Henley, of course!). But as you can see from these amazing pictures, opposition to the Rwanda Plan is now spread through all kinds of people across the country.
We’re fighting hard to challenge the plan in court – and we’re using all the support we’ve been getting for the campaign to make as much as noise as possible, to make sure the Government knows the strength of public opposition. On 5 September we will be in the High Court to challenge the lawfulness of the plan, and in the run up to that date we need your support.
