Hours before the final vote on the triggering of Article 50 the government quietly ended its commitment to rehousing 3,000 Syrian child refugees, limiting the figure to 350. Earlier this year, in response to the Dubs Amendment, introduced by Lord Alfred Dubs, a Czech Jew who fled to the UK in the 1930s, David Cameron said 3,000 Syrian refugee children would be admitted to the UK, but in a written statement Home Office announced it would keep the number at 350.
