Canterbury Volunteers

Hello, love, we are your old-age pensioners volunteer group for the day!” gleefully exclaimed the tall silver-haired bloke who was accompanied by four animated senior ladies from Canterbury.
“I’m sorry that we won’t be much help, seeing as were quite slow and tire easily,” stated the great-grandmother who brought her own chair for taking breaks.
“I have an important question,” commented the eldest member of the group who had also informed me that she was terribly hard of hearing; “What time is lunch?”
Five hours later, and having chosen to take only a 30 minute lunch break therein, this sweet group of elder U.K. volunteers had brilliantly sorted over 30 boxes of children’s clothing by age.
There is no such thing as an “unimportant” job in volunteering…and we are never too old to help. This delightful group, after hugs and kisses good-bye, thanked us for making them feel so useful and welcome.
Every volunteer is welcome and needed!
