Care4Calais launch new UK resources website

Care4Calais launch new UK resources website

Just a few months ago we put out a simple call-out: refugees were arriving in the UK with absolutely nothing and desperately needed our help. Could a few people step up to support us?

Fast-forward just three months and we now have more than 500 volunteers up and down the UK who together are welcoming vulnerable people into our country, showing them only the best of British compassion and generosity. At a time of so much hostility in the media and in government policy, your kindness has never been more important.

So to mark this unbelievable growth, we have launched a brand-new webpage dedicated to our UK work. In it you’ll find all the resources you’ll need to help refugees in the UK: from tips on fundraising, donations and English lessons to guidance on legal and medical advice, we’ve got you covered.

When refugees first arrive in the UK it can be bewildering for them. Navigating a new country and a foreign language is a big challenge, made worse if you have no money and are scared and alone. The hundreds of Care4Calais volunteers in the UK are here to give them a helping hand.

But our work isn’t over yet. We still need volunteers, donations and other sources of support in all areas of the UK, from Newcastle and Manchester all the way down to Heathrow and Kent. To get involved or for more information, visit care4calais.org/uk
