How to counter the far right

Now more than ever we need to show our compassion, support and solidarity for refugees in our communities.
The far right is planning a series of demonstrations against refugees and asylum seekers in our towns and cities, and spreading damaging rumours to generate local anxiety in the hope it will attract supporters.
Our thoughts must be with the refugees in the hotels that are targeted for the demonstrations. They have fled war and persecution, and are deeply disturbed by these actions. It is vital we let them know they are welcome and wanted here. Please do all you can.
One positive action is that various groups are planning peaceful demonstrations to show support for refugees, and we list details below. In other places where far right demonstrations are planned, we will share details of counter protests as soon as we have them.
We urge our supporters to be positive. Hate cannot be fought with hate; it can only be fought with love. Let’s use our actions to show our belief in a kinder, more compassionate future.
