Desperately low stock

Desperately low stock

Today we spent the day at one of the main sites in Calais with refugees from Sudan, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Afghanistan; some of the most dangerous places in the world today. It was striking how many new arrivals there were, in particular from South Sudan.

We took out hygiene packs to help people feel fresh in the heat, and provided various services such as phone charging, hair cuts, tea and food and the great new phone credit system that Jape Phonecreditforrefugees has developed.

It was a good day but we were hampered by desperately low stock. Donations have dropped over the summer and we don’t have some of the key things the refugees really need right now. In particular we have no trousers, jeans or joggers. People are sleeping rough and not getting to wash or change their clothes for weeks. Some of the trousers I saw people wearing today were simply horrible.

If you can donate small men’s or boy’s jeans or joggers, please go to our nearest drop off point as soon as you can https://goo.gl/ULD9dG. Alternatively we can buy these cheaply in bulk for just £5 a pair. They really need your help. Please donate just £5 now. Thank you.
