Finsbury Park Mosque congregation collects over three hundred #Coats4Calais

A MASSIVE THANK YOU to the committee and congregation of Finsbury Park Mosque in North London, who have completed their coat collection for #Coats4Calais. They have collected 235 men’s and women’s coats, all quality checked, folded and packed – ready to be brought over to Calais! They also collected 65 coats for children which were distributed to families housed in a London hotel!
Mohammed Kozbar, Chair of the Finsbury Park Mosque, said ‘Our community is pleased to support the winter appeal once again to help keep people warm and safe when they need it most’.
These coats will be distributed to those who need them most in these freezing temperatures in the U.K., France and Belgium. For those living on the streets or in sub-standard accommodation, a good quality coat can make an enormous difference!
Every time we hear from a team or individual that has organised a collection for us, we are reminded just how many amazing, caring people there are out there, committed to easing the suffering of refugees all over the world. Your contributions are so appreciated! We are supporting over 3,000 people sleeping rough in northern France, and an additional 3,500 people living in hotels and army barracks across the UK, poorly equipped for this harsh British winter.
If you’d like to donate a coat or start a collection in your area, go to the link in our bio! Or, if you donate £20, we will buy a warm winter coat on your behalf – just go to care4calais.org/coats4calais.
