Get involved with #Packs4Calais,

What an amazing day! Today we had over 60 hard-working and dedicated volunteers with us in Calais, including a great delegation from the National Education Union NUT Section and Stand Up To Racism.

In the morning we prepared over 700 #Packs4Calais, containing essential supplies for refugees; tshirts, boxer shorts and socks as they don’t get to change their clothes; dental kits, wet wipes and deodorants to help them feel fresh; and high-energy foods including tinned fish, dates and nuts. In the afternoon we distributed these at five sites in Calais and Dunirk.

The people we met today are living in terrible conditions and yet they are resilient, resourceful and above all some of the kindest people you could ever hope to meet. This is truly humbling. We should be fair. We should give these people a chance.

We are grateful to the the National Education Union NUT Section and Stand Up To Racism for their excellent support. And a huge thanks to everybody that has donated to #Packs4Calais or confirmed that they will be organising a collection so far.

You can help today by either:

1. Organising the collection and preparation of your own #Packs4Calais
2. Collecting any of the items that go into the packs.
3. Donating using the following link: https://mydonate.bt.com/donation/start.html?charity=164447
