Help reunite families

Imagine you are in a war zone and have a chance to take your partner and young son to safety in the UK – but you would have to leave your 18-year-old daughter behind because the rules say she is too old.
Currently, refugees are only allowed to reunite with their partner and young children in the UK – meaning they have to choose between safety and staying with their family. Another year of missed birthdays, Christmases and Eids. How could you move forward with your life when all thoughts are with loved ones elsewhere?
MPs from across the political divide voted in favour of a bill which proposed the necessary changes and Thanks to thousands of supporters who joined the campaign and wrote to their MPs, the bill passed with a fantastic majority of 131 MPs. However one year on – nothing has changed. Government has blocked its progression through Parliament ever since.
We need to put pressure on the Home Secretary, Sajid Javid, to change the policies that keep refugee families apart – something he can do with the stroke of a pen.
