Donate your small sewing kits to Calais

Want to help refugees but not sure how? Donate sewing kits to Calais to help our volunteers carry out small but essential repairs.

One of the small things we do to help people in Northern France is clothing repairs. These may be rips or tears, a missing button, a flap that needs gluing, or a missing shoelace. As well as being practical help, it is a way to say we care and to make a personal connection to someone that we meet on a cold winter’s day.

We sometimes get asked for sewing kits, since not everything can be done there and then. This week, for example, there was a man who would have had to take his trousers off to repair the tear he had – not so practical when outside.

If you are travelling and are given small sewing kits for free, please add these to any donations you send to Calais.
