How Iraqi refugee Kevan dreams of peace and a brighter future

I feel like my life has become a bad dream. I was working for the UNHCR in Iraq almost 10 years ago. Iraq became dangerous, but for a while me and my brothers were safe. I was helping others, and always praying for peace one day for everyone in my country.
Now I am here, with my tea that I queued for, hoping that next time I can get shoes and a coat because I have nothing. My brothers are dead and I am alone except for an uncle in the UK that I have never met – but I know he is waiting for me. I thank you for what you do, but I don’t understand how now I am here and you are there.
