Kings Cross team see first distribution – in time for the snow!
Last Sunday saw the first-ever distribution by the Kings Cross team of the Central London Care4Calais group – just in time for the snow! We reached around 50 adults and children, providing coats, shoes, jumpers, gloves, hats, toys – and even snowsuits for the babies.
Our ‘personal shoppers’ helped hotel residents find what they needed to keep warm, as well as handing out rucksacks, toiletries and food staples. Generous donations from friends and family, a super venue (belonging to The St Pancras Community Association), a top-notch team and a lovely community feeling made our debut distribution a real success!
Here is some of the feedback we got from our ‘customers’ on the day!
“I was happy just being there…seeing you all helping people you don’t know was all that I needed to ease my opinion about how cruel the world has become.”
“Thank you all for your precious time and effort. It’s really heart-warming to see that there are still people who care about people like us.”
