Milot, 10 & Hamid, 24
My name is Milot I´m 10 years old and I´m from Afghanistan. When I was in Afghanistan I loved to go to play football with my Friends on the street and go to school.
I have two brothers they are 24 and 5 years old and one sister, She is 26. Six months ago after I became 10 my dad told me that I was in fighting age and that the militars and talibans were going to ask me to fight, then my older brother Hamid whom had to escape to Iran when I was a baby came back to Afghanistan to look for me and take me to a safe place putting his own life in risk.
He was a welder in Iran and He came to Afghanistan for 5 days, I packed my stuff, said goodbye to my mum and dad and both left the country being smuggled to Iran thanks to a cousin of us. Once in Iran my brother sold all his equipment to pay his debts and our trip to Europe.
We had to pass to Turkey, there we spent 15 days and we had to cross a Jungle for three days and it was raining all the time while we were walking. the waves were too big in that sea, the smuggler put us in a boat filled with air with other 53 people and sent us to Greece. It was so dark and cold but at least my brother was with me.
The boat broke down half way through to Greece but thankfully after 4 hours on the boat we all arrived to the Greek coast. We kept travelling through Europe and when we arrived to Germany they tried to separate my brother and me but He said that He was going to ask for my custody and then we stood together.
After Germany we arrived to Calais and We have been in the jungle for 5 months already, the problem here is that it´s so cold and we don´t have so many food, it´s dangerous at night and my brother is all the time worried for me. I can´t go to school or play football with my Friends anymore. I just want to go to England to meet my family and go to school. When I grow up I want to be a football player and be around my family in a safe place. His big brother Hamid said: “being in the jungle is not living, but you are alive”
