Pop up barbers for refugees

Last week on distribution we noticed that the guys’ hair was getting rather long so this weekend we brought some hair clippers, scissors and hair wax, chairs and mirrors. Soon a forest barbers had been set up and customers were queuing up for a haircut. In the background people were washing their hair using buckets of water to be ready for the barber. We quickly ran out of hair care products, and had a lot of requests for hair oil that you don’t seem to be able to buy in Calais, but this didn’t stop the action.
Self care is a great way to give the refugees a bit of dignity and also fun, and it is not easy to stay clean and tidy living rough in Calais. Donations of toiletry packs containing deodorant, shower gels, razors and shaving foam are greatly appreciated, or feel free to make a donation here https://goo.gl/jmkx7A
