Protesting solidarity around the World.

Protesting solidarity around the World.

Our culture of self interest and a materialism have brought us to this day. People have been scared. Scared their resources are being taken from them, scared they can not accumulate ever more, scared they will not achieve the ideal of having it all. To perpetrate this myth, that they can and should have everything, scape-goats are found, migrants, poor people, the disabled and the young . They are blamed for the failing system, while the ruling elite grab more for themselves. And now a bully, racist and misogynistic, is in the most powerful political office in the world. He will perpetuate these fears and ideals. He will destroy what is good by promising a wealth and prosperity that is no longer there to be had.

If we let him.

Doing what is morally and ethically right is what matters now. But we must do this together, as one, a wave of solidarity that can envisage and motivate change. Change to a simpler life, where we share resources and we do not buy the glossy stuff ‘they’ need us to buy, where we get by on less. A life where people matter more, where things are smaller, healthier and more meaningful. Where communities can flourish, share and look after those in need. If we want our planet to survive this is the direction we must take. There is room for us all, but we need to learn to share once more, like the poorest already do.

Care4Calais believe in doing what is right for the marginalised and dispossessed and we will continue to fight for them, look after them and give them the right to be human. We will stand up and be counted. Will you?
