The rice has finally come to an end..

We have a sign on a container written in jest by a volunteer who was asked to stack the rice bags back in the days of the jungle, it said , “ … and the rice never ends”.
Today it’s just about ended, 20 or so 2kg bags left in a broken box. But we still need to look after nearly 3000 refugees in northern France and Belgium. People who have fled violence and war, prison and sheer brutality through no fault of their own, simply because they were the ‘wrong’ religion or the ‘wrong’ political party or the ‘wrong’ colour.
They don’t expect handouts when they get here or to be wealthy – just to be safe from fear and persecution. But Calais is in ways far worse, they aren’t wanted here, they are hunted and chased, dreams and hopes shattered, stamped on and no one to pick up the pieces.
We need to continue to help these people, to supply never ending bags of rice if necessary and to look after them as best we can until there is change. With your help we can. Our food supplies are the lowest they have ever been : please could you donate to buy a bag of rice today? https://goo.gl/jmkx7A
