Soaring temperatures, but supplies are running low

Soaring temperatures, but supplies are running low

This weekend was scorching in Calais, even inside the warehouse and as soon as you walked outside it hit you with a physical force. So we wondered what to take out to make the refugees feel a bit cooler. Amazingly we had three full boxes of newly donated board shorts from Saint Albans for Refugees, a box of caps and some vest t.shirts. We also were lucky enough to have coke left over from the big get together and two huge bags of oranges. A treat for the refugees.

I don’t think we’ve ever given multi coloured shorts before! In minutes people had swapped their jeans for the shorts, oranges were being munched and the footballs were in action.

Overall it felt like a great day but it masked our deeper concerns. The warehouse is pretty much empty and we have very little left to take out. There are still around 1,000 people in Calais and Dunkirk and, no matter how hard the authorities try to deny it, they still need to stay alive. This is our summer needs list. https://goo.gl/a82RFo please collect items, share this list and drop stuff off at any of our drop off points here https://goo.gl/ULD9dG. And If you can’t do that we can fully clothe a refugee for just £13! Donate here: https://goo.gl/jmkx7A
