Volunteer Stories: Val
What a day, so hot but we had a job to do.
Sam my daughter of whom I am so proud had organised sourcing trainers, underpants and joggers and lots of jeans which admittedly were second hand but carefully sorted to find the right size.
Her team at Care4Calais were a group to be proud of.
Sam and I went yesterday afternoon to check everything was set for this weeks giving out of donations to over 80 young men in our local hotel. Last week the same group gave out underclothes, sanitory products and clothes to ladies and children. This week it was the turn of the young men.
We set off in two cars both stacked to the gunnels. Me with trepidation as I would have to drive round a big town, and I am still getting used to driving on the wrong side of the road.
Sam had arranged the drop off in the underground car park of the hotel.
We had about eight volunteers helping, all whom were amazing young people, just so caring.
We all arrived to set up so we could arrange small, medium and large sizes.
Then we were descended upon, no photos taken because of privacy but it was wonderful to see.
Sam and I eventually got home after tidying everything up and thanking hotel management.
What a great success to see so many happy faces!

There are so many new arrivals right now who have only the clothes they came and nothing to change into. Please consider donating to help us, help them.
