Volunteers needed in East London!

Volunteers needed in East London!
Do you live in in East London? Are you passionate about supporting refugees, with a few hours to spare each week? We’d love to hear from you to join one of our our local U.K. volunteer teams. We are looking for dedicated volunteers to support refugees in Tower Hamlets, Newham and Barking.
There are more asylum seekers getting in touch with us every day, housed in temporary accommodation in and around London. Many of them are alone, struggling to adapt to life in an unfamiliar environment. They are in need of warm clothes, support and most importantly, friendship.
Not only do our volunteers provide a helping hand and friendly face for newly arrived asylum seekers in a daily basis, they regularly collect and distribute donations, show the new arrivals around their local area, and help them to book medical and lawyers’ appointments. They help with translation and finding resources, organise activities and clubs on the weekends, and even put on English lessons.
You can volunteer during the week, or on the weekend, and volunteer remotely, if you’re unable to go out in person due to restrictions on travel during the Covid-19 pandemic. We have lots of resources for our volunteers – everything you need to know can be found at care4calais.org/uk.
Please join us in making a difference to the lives of refugees in East London – get in touch by emailing [email protected]
