Volunteers needed in Reading!

Are you passionate about helping refugees? Our local team in Reading are looking for new volunteers – especially to help with our in-person drop-ins in the city centre on Wednesday and Saturday afternoons! You don’t have to commit to both days every week, but ideally one of those afternoons every two weeks!

The team runs an in-person drop in for refugees at a local hotel and in dispersal accommodation – primarily for some social interaction and so that asylum seekers in our area can feel welcomed as a part of the local community. These sessions are socially distanced, Covid risk assessed and adhere to the latest restrictions.

No experience needed – just enthusiasm and a willingness to help! There will be at least 3 volunteers at each drop in session so you’ll always have support if you have any questions! We have lots of resources for our volunteers – everything you need to know can be found at care4calais.org/uk
