Waterproof Boots Needed

It’s heartbreaking to see that two years on, and going into winter, we still have people turning up in Northern France in pitifully inadequate footwear for a winter in Europe. This weekend we had a great team of volunteers in and we took the opportunity to do a shoe distribution at Grande Synthe. 120 pairs of boots given out in just over one hour even though it was raining.

The refugees walk miles every day; to get to food distributions; to hide further and further out of the way to avoid police harassment; simply to find fresh water or to get out of the rain. This, together with life spent outdoors sleeping rough, means that waterproof shoes that are good for sustained walking are one of the top things we get asked for on a daily basis.
