We were able to distribute 450 warm winter coats

Yesterday, thanks to an amazing team of 50 volunteers from the National Education Union, we were able to distribute 450 warm winter coats, 200 waterproof walking boots and 100 power banks across two sites in Calais and Dunkirk.

Thanks to the hard work of these amazing volunteers and the generosity of many donors, when temperatures dropped drastically today and giant hail fell at least 650 people were warmer and dryer than they otherwise would have been.

The demand for both warm coats and waterproof boots continues to overwhelm us. Right now, being outside all day is brutal, and being outside all night is even worse. There are still many people walking miles in sodden shoes, leading to infected and chill blained feet and seriously deteriorating health.

Please, if you have a coat in your cupboard that you no longer wear take it to one of our drop off points now: https://care4calais.org/thedropoffmap/

If you can donate towards waterproof boots this is the best way to transform the daily life of someone who lives outside in the bitter cold. You can donate here: www.care4calais.org/donate

Thank you
